Physician - Pathology jobs in Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 am- 4:30 pm

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled individual to support a high-volume pathology department. The candidate will data enter patient and specimen information as part of the patient's official pathology report. The successful individual will be reliable, goal-focused, detail oriented, self-motivated, and able to hand off and take on tasks as needed. The candidate must also be able to work in a fast-pace work environment.

Duties:

• Willingness to act as a courier to transport specimens from a nearby surgery center.
• Unpack pathology specimens, review insurance data, and confirm specimen details.
• Assign case numbers and add pathology billing codes.
• Accurately type patient information and specimen details into the laboratory information system.
• Process outside specimen requests and external pathology consultations.
• File histologic slides and tissue blocks.
• Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner.
• Perform other department related duties as assigned.

Requirements/Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to collaborate and work within a team.
• Adherence to HIPAA and compliance to policies and procedures.
• Capacity to take direction and work within a team.
• Willing to problem solve and take initiative in all areas of the pathology office.
• Able to type 30-40 wpm with basic computer skills and willingness to transcribe gross dictations.
• Experience in data entry is an asset.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
