Children’s Hospital at Erlanger and the University of Tennessee College of Medicine Chattanooga are seeking an outstanding Pediatric Hospitalist to join their team. Hospitalists with a passion for family centered medicine in an academic setting should apply. Applicants with current or previous teaching experience and an interest in clinical epidemiology and research are highly preferable.

Children’s Hospital at Erlanger is certified as a Comprehensive Regional Pediatric Center (CRPC), the highest designation in the state for pediatrics.

Education, Training, & Experience

• MD or DO degree
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics required, Board Eligible or Board Certified in Pediatric Hospital Medicine preferred
• Ability to obtain an active medical license in the state of Tennessee
• Resident Teaching Experience

Roles and Responsibilities

• Supervise inpatient team composed of pediatric residents along with Family Medicine residents and medical students; no non-teaching clinical service obligations
• No nursery or newborn delivery responsibilities
• Night Call by phone from home
• Opportunities to participate in ongoing quality and process improvement efforts and to lead new projects
• Active participation in resident and medical student education, both clinical and formal/didactic teaching

• On site Pediatric Trauma Team
• 14 bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit
• 50 in-patient beds with over 4,000 admissions last year
• Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit with 64 beds
• 33 bed Pediatric Emergency Department with over 40,000 visits last year
• Additional pediatric programs include cardiology, endocrinology, nephrology, orthopedics, urology, pulmonology, gastroenterology, surgery, medical genetics, comprehensive cancer and blood disorders, psychology, neurology, radiology, physical, speech and occupational therapies
