Role Purpose

The Director of Operations and Physician Services will work collaboratively with Missouri Baptist Medical Center (MBMC) Executive Team, Washington University School of Medicine (WUSM), BJC Medical Group (BJCMG) and other BJC leadership teams to develop and implement hospital and BJC System strategies. The position has responsibility for multiple departments and programs, including the MBMC Neurosciences Service Line, Physicians Services, Environmental Health and Safety, Public Safety, EVS, and Telecommunications. Additionally, this role covers the physician operations of multiple PSAs held by the hospital, and primary responsibility for occupancy and operations of the medical office building space. The Director of Operations and Physician Services is responsible for leading major planning projects. Provides leadership and director in accordance with the HSO and System goals and objectives. The Director will be assigned to local and/or system level patience care/process improvement/campus planning activities in accordance with the HSO strategic goals defined by BJC policies and objectives.

Responsibilities

• Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: onboarding and hiring, training, workload management & performance evaluations, conducting professional development plans as needed. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
• Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
• Drives service line planning for Neurosciences in collaboration with BJC Strategic Planning. Assures coordination of growth and/or development plans across MBMC. Leads physician relations staff and hospital-based PSAs, and collaborates with BJC Medical Group (MBMC MOBs), WUSM, BJC Strategic Planning and BJC Campus planning teams. Leads creation and execution of strategic collaborations around physicians’ services, campus and facility planning, and Neurosciences.
• Responsible for leading major Neurosciences planning projects. Develops and executes departmental strategies & guides departmental and organizational transformations needed to reach financial, service, leadership, regulatory and community objectives.
• Directs and oversees overall operations and sets strategic direction of Neurosciences, Physician Services, Campus Planning, Telecommunications, Public Safety, EVS, and Emergency Management/Environmental Health and Safety teams.
