Physician - Pulmonary Medicine examines and diagnoses disorders and diseases of the lungs. Consults with patients to determine the appropriate course of treatment. Being a Physician - Pulmonary Medicine recommends and orders tests to determine extent of illness or help diagnose condition. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Additionally, Physician - Pulmonary Medicine requires a valid state license to practice. May report to a medical director.     Responsibilities:

    Providing and managing immediate patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and annual well visits

    Treating respiratory diseases

    Monitoring respiratory issues throughout the patients journey

    Addressing sleep and fatigue problems

    Diagnosis or treats allergic or immunologic conditions

    Educates patients about diagnoses. Prognoses and treatments

    Monitors on going conditions
    Engaging with patients and their families or caregivers to understand, and monitored self-management care plans
    Documents individualized care plans and care coordination in the patient chart
    Analyzing patients medical history, medication allergies, physical condition, and examination to determine best care
    Prescribing pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions.
    Referring patients to specialists or to internal medicine as appropriate.
    Directing and coordinating patient care activities of nursing and support staff
    Promoting and respecting patient rights and privacy.
    Responding appropriately to emergency situations.
    Participating in meetings to evaluate practice processes and workflows pertaining to patient care and quality improvement efforts.
    Participating in health promotion, education and/or prevention programs, such as PCMH and ACO.
    Following established policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards

    Skills and Qualifications may include but are not limited to:

    * Medical License (Required)
    * Work authorization (Required)
    * Doctorate (Preferred)
    * BC/BE (Preferred)
    * EHR
