Physician Residency Coordinator oversees the administration and scheduling of the physician residency program of a healthcare organization. Coordinates and facilitates the activities of the physician residents and provides the resources necessary to fulfill curriculum requirements. Being a Physician Residency Coordinator ensures physician activities comply with governing bodies such as the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or other applicable regulations. Supports the recruitment and selection process of resident physicians. Additionally, Physician Residency Coordinator administers and maintains a system or database to manage schedules and physician performance metrics. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Physician Residency Coordinator occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. The Residency Coordinator for the Dentistry Department is responsible for achieving and maintaining compliance with the Accreditation Standards for Advanced Education Program in General Practice Residency. He or she is responsible for securing and maintaining records in accordance with requirements of the standards and organizing documents to assure compliance can be readily demonstrated, including recruitment, program budget compliance, residency accreditation, credentialing and certification.
