Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for submitting medical claims to insurance companies and ensuring timely reimbursement.
Duties:
- Review and verify accuracy of billing data and revise any errors
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies
- Follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframe
- Check each insurance payment for accuracy and compliance with contract discount
- Call insurance companies regarding any discrepancy in payments
- Review accounts for insurance of patient follow-up
- Research and appeal denied claims
- Post payments to patient accounts
-Check patient eligibility
-Obtaining prior authorizations
-Assist with front desk duties such as scheduling, triaging, taking messages, confirming appointments etc.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in medical billing software and electronic claims submission
- Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9, ICD-10, DRG, and CPT coding
- Familiarity with medical collections processes
- Experience working in a medical office setting
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Excellent communication skills to interact with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers
- Experience with provider disputes
