Position Overview: The Neurodiagnostic Scheduler is responsible for all aspects of scheduling EMG/NCS patients including: precert EMG through patient’s insurance; assisting patient through the EMG scheduling process; scheduling, rescheduling and canceling appointments; verifying physician orders; entering patient information into an electronic health records (EHR) system; comforting patients by anticipating anxieties and effectively answering questions; maintain good communication with referring physician offices; and rooming patients in the event the technologist is out of the office (entering patient information into EMG machine, replacing pillow cases, wiping down beds, equipment).Essential Job Responsibilities:- Practices under supervision of Clinical Operations and Director of Neurodiagnostic Services.
- Completes all precert as required by insurance companies timely.
- Works with the patient through the scheduling process to make sure the patient is seen timely.
- Assist in rooming patients and maintaining the efficient flow of clinic.
- Establishes effective working relationships with members of the clinical team, patients, and families.
- Coordinates duties/activities of clinical team members.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience: High school diploma and/or equivalent. Associates degree preferred.Other Requirements:- Must be able to build and maintain effective working relationships with employees throughout the organization.
- Must be able to demonstrate a strong sense of customer-focus.
- Experience with medical scheduling/billing systems preferred.
- Exceptional customer service, interpersonal skills, and communication skills.
- Proficiency of electronic records systems preferred.
- Must have strong data entry skills.
- Must have the ability to work independently while managing time and workload appropriately.
