Patient Care Representative/Scheduler

Come work at Dr. Messerschmidt’s Optometric Office! We are looking to hire a kind and motivated individual to join our staff.

JOB SUMMARY: Primary responsibilities include (1) checking patients in and out, (2) scheduling and rescheduling patients, (3) verify insurance coverage for all patients, (4) posting charges, and (5) performing general office duties. Ensuring the patient feels welcome in our practice by communication with patients in a professional, accurate, and courteous manner.

• Excellent customer service and communication/phone skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong computer and organizational skills.
• Empathetic to patient’s needs and concerns.
• Prompt and dependable.
• Ability to act as a team player.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma.
• Experience with Windows based computer utilizing Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Etc.).
• Experience in a similar capacity involving direct communication with the public, is preferred in a medical/optometric setting but no experience is necessary. Training will be provided with opportunities for advancement.
• Must be able to pass a background check.
