Our expertise and knowledge help to ensure that your pipeline is back in service as quickly and safely as possible. We are looking for a reliable Mechanical Field Technician to join our team.
The Mechanical Field Technician supports the company’s mission by assisting in the performance our services including but not limited to: leak detection, hydrotests, leak survey, line location, cathodic protection, corrosion control, pipeline integrity management, and pig tracking through various processes, and the operation of all service equipment. The job requires extensive travel both locally and nationally.
Accountabilities
- Reports for work at the job site or shop on time. Personal appearance and actions meet company standards.
- Ensures all government, customer and company requirements relating to safety, health, and environment are understood and followed.
- Maintains an excellent safety performance.
- Executes jobs successfully.
- Maintains appropriate communications with other technicians, customers, Sales, and President on job progress and changes with accurate and timely job documentation: Job Notes, Job Feedback, Job Records, Test Reports, other reports, and similar.
- Exhibits behaviors consistent with organization’s core values.
- Reinforces personal responsibility and accountability by working with minimum supervision and showing initiative.
- Work engaged during shop time hours including: yard work, equipment maintenance, training, etc.
- Correctly records time and expenses and submits both timely on a weekly basis.
- Completes additional assignments as requested by Operations, Shop Coordinator, or President.
Position Requirements
- Education: A High school diploma/GED.
- Experience: A minimum of 1 year in a similar experience (Mechanical or Corrosion).
- Skill, Knowledge and Abilities: Individual must possess the ability to organize and plan, troubleshoot, modify and maintain maintenance systems and equipment; to communicate effectively; strong mathematical skills, good computer knowledge including networks, Word®, Excel®, PowerPoint®, Outlook®, Sage 100, Timesheet, and web applications; strong customer service, leadership, organizational skills; strong mechanical tools and skills aptitude as well as the ability to quickly plan and adapt to ever-changing situations.
- Working Conditions: Individual must be able to work outdoors in temperature extremes that range from minus 30 degrees to 120 degrees Fahrenheit, weather conditions that may include rain or snow, and in terrain that may include swamps, marsh, heavy brush, or rocky soil.
- Travel: 25 - 50% or more depending on residence location – overnight travel required.
- Physical/Mental: Individual will be required to carry equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. Individual must possess the ability to handle stressful situations, especially where there are frequent deadlines; performs repetitive tasks as required; and maintain a positive attitude in a variety of situations.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
