Nickel's Pit BBQ is seeking an amazing Floor Manager at our Watkins Glen location for the summer season. Our Floor Manager will be responsible for overseeing front house operations and ensuring an exceptional customer experience. Position will start with paid training in April and will run through mid October, with options to stay on staff or return the following season.
Our floor manager will be dedicated to front house operations and guest satisfaction. There may be some basic cash drawer reconciliation/counting, but we want you to be focused on the dining room. Position will have a consistent schedule with two days off and five on, with hours in the evenings (3 until 9 or 10 during the week) and weekends (longer days, 11 or 12 - 10ish with break). Position will be about 40 hours per week, always on your feet, and very active. Our core staff is a group of well-trained, helpful, amazing people who can help you grow as a manager.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure a fantastic experience for every guest
- Manage and supervise the restaurant floor staff, including servers, hosts, and bartenders
- Train new employees on restaurant policies, procedures, and service standards
- Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the dining area
- Ensure smooth communication between the front-of-house and back-of-house teams
- Collaborate with the kitchen staff to ensure timely food preparation and delivery
Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of experience in a full-service restaurant setting
- Previous management experience is preferred but not absolutely necessary
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor
- Solid problem-solving abilities and the capacity to handle difficult situations calmly
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
Other Requirements:
- Bringing a positive attitude to work every day is an absolute must
- Willingness to work hands-on and accomplish the restaurant's goals as a team
- Knowledge of BBQ or love of BBQ is a plus
