    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Human Resources Manager will lead and direct the recruiting, administrative and compliance functions of the Human Resources Department including hiring of staff, administering the HRIS and compensation systems for accuracy, benefit programs, leave, workers compensation, and credentialing while acting as adviser to company policies and practices.  Additionally, this position will partner with the DEI team to track trends and offer meaningful feedback to leadership regarding DEI initiatives. 


    Compensation: $130K/year

    Schedule: Hybrid, 20% onsite/week

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Oversees recruiting function to include DEI sourcing practices, timely and efficient sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding of PPLM employees ensuring that resources are in place when needed.  Maintains critical KPI’s such as headcount, turnover, time to close, quality of hire, and turnover within first year.
    • Engage employees across all levels of the company in DEI efforts: Scale DEI initiatives by building trust and being the advocate for DEI across the organization.
    • Oversees daily workflow, efficiency, accuracy, and productivity of administrative and recruiting functions.  This includes benefits, payroll accuracy, compliance, leave of absence and workers’ compensation.  Ensure written procedures and instructions in place for all tasks.
    • Provides timely feedback to team members and training as necessary.  Conducts regular audits for accuracy and addresses any performance deficiencies.
    • Advises on administrative and company policies/procedures as needed with 24-hour response time.
    • Makes recommendations for continuous improvement.
    • Ensures a customer service culture within the human resources team.
    • Assists as needed with employee relations issues such as grievances, investigations, or daily inquiries. 
    • Partners with the Chief People Officer to understand and assist in executing the human resource and talent acquisition strategy particularly as it pertains to DEI, current and future talent needs, sourcing, recruiting, retention and succession planning.
    • Provides oversight and support to Human Resources Administrator, Talent Manager, and recruiting staff when complex and sensitive issues and questions arise. Jumps in to assist with routine tasks as needed. 
    • Aids the Employee Relations Specialist as needed with delicate situations such as providing reasonable accommodation, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations. 
    •  Ensures all credentialing is in place, background screens complete, and compliance documents secured prior to hire.
    • Stays abreast of compensation and benefit trends and conducts regular employee surveys to ensure effective employee value proposition in place.  Recommends any changes or improvements to CPO.
    • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, HRIS, and talent management
    • Ensures library of written HR instructions kept up to date and available to all leaders with HR responsibility.
    • Ensures leaders are trained regularly on HR functions and expectations.
    • Ensures cross training within all direct reporting functions for vacation or leave coverage.
    • Creates robust onboarding and orientation program that includes education in Planned Parenthood culture, critical policies, benefits, and health and safety.
    • Ensures all OSHA and workers compensation within compliance.
    • Ensures all leaves of absence tracked and managed.
    • Provides monthly HR data analytics to CPO or upon request.
    • Other duties as assigned.


    QUALIFICATIONS
    • BA/BS or significant relevant work experience.
    • 6 years of HR management with experience in a similar sized organization – experience in a health care setting important.  Experience managing HR department within a union environment a plus.
    • Extensive knowledge and understanding of creating programs from scratch such as recruiting strategies a must.
    • Personal commitment to anti-racist work; professional experience with DEI a plus. Commitment to addressing the impact of racism and other oppressions on sexual health.
    • Demonstrated ability to work with people of different races, ethnicities, sexual and gender identities and expressions, ages, abilities and experiences.
    • Important interpersonal skills include excellent communication, organization, creativity, innovation and sense of humor.
    • Strong analytical skills including the ability to use data to inform the decision-making process.
    • Phone access and ability to travel to all PPLM sites required (reimbursement provided)
