Planner/Scheduler - Construction collects and analyzes information used to plan and schedule construction projects. Generates forecasts, variance reports, and other documentation used to monitor and manage projects. Being a Planner/Scheduler - Construction researches and reports on economic, legal, and other factors that may impact project success. Evaluates current procedures and recommends changes to improve the efficiency of planning and scheduling of projects and the reduction of issues due to scheduling errors. Additionally, Planner/Scheduler - Construction understands and utilizes standard planning and scheduling methodologies and tools. Prepares plans and schedules for small and routine projects. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Planner/Scheduler - Construction works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Responsibilities: attend construction, quality control, progress and other conferences and meetings. Take minutes of meetings and distribute. Review, analyze, and make recommendations including preparation of cost estimates and time/schedule impacts on potential construction changes to the Project Manager. Review and comment on Progress Schedules, including Network Diagrams. Provide daily inspection and surveillance of construction work to insure the work is in accordance with construction contract. Make applicable comments on the daily reports. Notify COR of non-compliant work and then issue a Non-Conformance Notice to construction contractor. Witness field tests and review all testing reports accomplished by the contractor and any Government materials testing for conformance with specifications. Establish and maintain a log of all field tests required by the contract documents. Perform surveillance of survey operations for layout and elevations of construction work. Monitor submittals utilizing a submittal status log. Develop and maintain a filing system for submittals. Inform COR, contractor and construction representatives of safety violations. Review and comment on the accuracy of the construction contractor's Payment Requests. Verify quantities of all work in place, materials stored onsite and all skilled and non-skilled laborers onsite employed by the construction contractor or subcontractors. Review and acknowledge Contractor's Daily Reports including verification of the project schedule by indicating the activities worked on that day and the activities behind schedule. Maintain an Inspectors Daily Diary. Maintain orderly working files for correspondence, minutes of meetings and conferences, payments, updated progress schedules, monthly progress reports, punch lists, field changes, Request for Information (RFI), and contract documents including amendments, notices to proceed, change orders, modifications and other locally generated documents developed during the course of construction.
