Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Planner and Tax Planning Specialist to join our team. As a Financial Planner and Tax Planning Specialist, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive financial planning services to our clients, with a particular focus on tax optimization and planning strategies. In addition to financial planning and tax preparation, experience utilizing Drake software is preferred. Your expertise in financial planning, taxation, and proficiency with Drake software will help clients make informed decisions, maximize their financial resources, minimize their tax liabilities, and ensure compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial planning, tax laws, tax preparation, and possess excellent analytical and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough financial assessments of clients' current financial situations, including income, expenses, assets, liabilities, and goals.
Develop customized financial plans that align with clients' objectives, taking into account their risk tolerance, time horizon, and tax considerations.
Provide expert advice and guidance on various financial matters, including investment strategies, retirement planning, estate planning, risk management, and tax optimization.
Utilize Drake software to prepare accurate tax returns and ensure compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
Proactively identify tax planning opportunities and implement strategies to optimize clients' tax positions.
Prepare accurate tax projections, taking into account clients' anticipated income, deductions, and potential tax liabilities, utilizing Drake software.
Stay updated on the latest tax laws, regulations, and strategies to ensure accurate and up-to-date tax planning, compliance, and projections.
Collaborate with clients' accountants, attorneys, and other financial professionals to develop comprehensive financial and tax strategies.
Assist clients in implementing recommended financial plans, tax strategies, and ensuring compliance with tax filing requirements.
Monitor and review clients' financial plans and tax positions regularly, making adjustments and updates as needed based on changing circumstances, goals, and tax laws.
Educate clients on financial planning concepts, investment options, tax strategies, and implications, ensuring they understand the benefits and consequences of recommended approaches.
Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in handling clients' financial and tax information.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field. A Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation is highly preferred.
Proven experience as a Financial Planner or similar role, with a strong focus on tax planning, tax preparation, and compliance.
In-depth knowledge of financial planning principles, investment strategies, retirement planning, risk management, and tax laws.
Proficiency in utilizing Drake software for tax preparation and compliance.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial and tax information and develop suitable recommendations.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and explain financial and tax concepts clearly and concisely.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously.
High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, best practices, and compliance requirements related to financial planning and taxation.
