The City of Auburn Community Development department is looking for a talented
Plans Examiner/Building Inspector I to add to our team!
This position performs technical work in the inspection of building and site improvements, which includes inspecting structural, plumbing, and mechanical construction for compliance with applicable building, development, environmental, and planning codes, adopted regulations and ordinances, and approved plans and specifications. This position makes decisions related to the acceptance and evaluation of building and other related permits; periodically will be required to perform review, evaluation, and decision of approval or denial of residential and commercial building plans and specifications for compliance with building codes, local ordinances, and construction requirements for structures in the City.
This role is critical to the development process and operations of the department. The building team provides a vital and important role in current and long-term safety of the public and property through the administration and enforcement of building, planning, and development codes and standards.
