Department Finance

Reports to General Manager

Job Summary The Plant Accountant is responsible for activities related to managing finance/ accounting functions for the manufacturing facility and provide financial guidance to the leadership team.

Job Responsibilities

• Accountable for the timely completion of month-end, quarter-end and yearly close processes; analyze financial information to prepare financial summaries, and ensure accurate and efficient monthly, quarterly and year- end results.
• Analyze financial information to recommend and develop efficient use of resources and procedures; provide strategic recommendations to the operations leadership.
• Maintain the ownership of chart of accounts and ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed.
• Oversee Accounts Payable process; control vendor payments process, Account Receivable management, cash application with attention to aged invoices and monitor credit limits.
• Review costs of manufacturing, overhead and G&A expense analysis, and provide recommendation for overhead absorption rates and cost management initiatives.
• Ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses.
• Comply with provincial and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
• Assist and oversee all physical inventory counts and reconciliation.
• Use utmost discretion in dealing with company and customers' confidential data.
• Perform other tasks as required.

Education and Skill Requirement

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent of experience.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge.
• Expertise in Office 365 specifically Excel. Prior Epicor experience is an asset.
• Excellent oral and written English communication.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills to resolve issues with other department members and managers.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge with the ability to provide guidance on complex accounting requirements.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision.

Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and prioritize jobs and be highly organized.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
