Overview:
Do you have an interest in working for a prestigious law firm? We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team and assist with our well-respected tax practice. We have a family-oriented work culture and are proud of the length of tenure most of our employees hold. As an Accountant, you will work on a small team and support three different attorneys. This position is responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting regulations. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of accounting experience, a strong background in general ledger accounting, and be able to work flexible hours during peak seasons.

Responsibilities:
- Perform general ledger accounting tasks, including account reconciliations
- Prepare and review journal entries, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Utilize accounting software to record and maintain financial transactions
- Preparation of financial statements and reports for tax preparation
- Perform bank and brokerage reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies
- Creation of spreadsheets from client provided information
- Preparation of payroll and franchise tax reports

Skills:
- 3 years of current work experience in accounting with a strong knowledge of journal entries, general ledger accounting, and financial reporting
- Proficiency in using accounting software such as QuickBooks desktop and online
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and analysis
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently

- Capability to work extra hours during peak seasons is a must
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with clients
- Ability to successfully take initiative, be proactive, meet hard deadlines, multi-task, be organized and manage a heavy workload during peak seasons
- Highly efficient 10 key and data entry skills
- Tax and depreciation knowledge is a plus
