Plant Accounting Manager jobs in Lancaster, PA

Plant Accounting Manager manages all financial control and accounting activities of a plant including general and cost accounting, payables/receivables and payroll. Ensures the plant's financial control processes and systems comply with company policies, applicable regulations, and provide required information. Being a Plant Accounting Manager monitors plant operation results against operating plans and direct the preparation of financial, production output, and other reports used to measure and control plant activities and costs. Leads the plant financial and capital budgeting process. Additionally, Plant Accounting Manager recommends and implements programs to improve productivity, increase efficiencies, and reduce costs. May require a CPA. Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or equivalent. Typically reports to top management. The Plant Accounting Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Plant Accounting Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     What you’ll do:


    The Plant Manager position is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating all aspects of the safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people for the facility. The minimum direct reports to the position are:
    • EHS Coordinator/Manager
    • Quality Manager
    • Production Control Manager
    • Production Manager/Production Supervisors
    • Scheduler
    • Continuous Improvement Coordinator/SPS Specialist

    JOB
    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Understand and execute all safety requirements and cautions
    • Ensure customers receive timely commitment dates and that the organization meets or exceeds expectations (cost, quality, delivery)
    • Lead the deployment of common manufacturing related core procedures that support the company Production System requirements and work in concert with other functions in the manufacturing network.
    • Work with team members to develop the future state value stream map and manage the plans to achieve it, as documented in a project plan
    • Support integrating operations data with the customers to provide end to end visibility to status and completion
    • Develop systems and tools to provide online access to status for the customers
    • Manage new product launches, to ensure all deliverables are met to support a successful production ramp while meeting the needs of the clients (quick turn with quality)
    • Meet with value stream functional leaders regularly, identifying problems, solutions, and action plans, thereby creating a culture of continuous improvement with a learning organization leading to meeting all goals and objectives set by the enterprise
    • Create a culture that stops to fix problems to get quality right the first time
    • Ensure that standardized work/processes are followed, countermeasures implemented, and area of responsibility is compliant with all requirements
    • Create the basis for continuous improvement and employee empowerment at all levels to drive measurable results
    • Develop, implement, and monitor department budget and manages expenses within approved budget constraints
    • Instill and maintain a positive can-do team atmosphere
    • Ensure Production Supervisors provide effective cross-training for employees, including backups, to ensure continuous levels of required support
    • Develop, maintain, and communicate the results of the KPIs so all stakeholders are aware of performance and issues; all information is visual and obvious to the enterprise and ensures no problems remain hidden.
    • Develop and maintain an effective organization through the selection, training, and motivation of all personnel
    • Manage the production reporting to ensure accurate information flow for labor, inventory accuracy quality, and manufacturing costs
    • Develop and maintain a positive relationship with customers, fellow leaders, employees, and departments that support the manufacturing process
    • Continually improve processes by investigating changes in manufacturing methods by evaluating technological developments, investigating feasibility of new equipment and techniques, and providing dependable cost estimates and supporting financial analysis
    • Stay up to date on overall activities of the team, identify problem areas and take corrective actions


    What you need to be successful:


    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field required
    • 10 years’ experience leading in a fast pace, multi-task, complex manufacturing environment
    • Exceptional leadership and team development skills required
    • Self-motivated with the ability to stay on task
    • Innovative team player
    • Intermediate computer skills are required
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Commitment to excellence and high standards
    • Sound judgment with the ability to make timely, and sometimes difficult, decisions
