Plant Accounting Manager manages all financial control and accounting activities of a plant including general and cost accounting, payables/receivables and payroll. Ensures the plant's financial control processes and systems comply with company policies, applicable regulations, and provide required information. Being a Plant Accounting Manager monitors plant operation results against operating plans and direct the preparation of financial, production output, and other reports used to measure and control plant activities and costs. Leads the plant financial and capital budgeting process. Additionally, Plant Accounting Manager recommends and implements programs to improve productivity, increase efficiencies, and reduce costs. May require a CPA. Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or equivalent. Typically reports to top management. The Plant Accounting Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. About The Opportunity
Compensation: competitive base salary plus bonus structure, ESOP contributions, 401(k) match.
We are searching for an experienced Accounting Manager who will work closely with the Controller and our entire accounting team in providing accounting support for job cost, financial, as well as inventory transactions and reporting. Activities require an understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles as well as application of accounting principles and practices. This individual must have the ability to work independently, as a member of a collaborative team, and be able to multi-task in a fast-paced office environment.
What you will be doing:
Owns the month end and year end close process and ensures timely and accurate results each month in accordance with GAAP. Tasks included will be reviewing journal entries, creating account reconciliations, cost accounting reporting, fixed asset reporting, monthly financial reporting, partner with divisional administrative teams, and various monthly financial data analysis reports to department and divisional heads.
Manages 2 direct reports in the accounting team.
Assist with financial documentation requirements for annual financial audits.
Assist Controller with banking activities. Responsible to reconcile the checkbook each week and oversee petty cash account by reviewing/approving petty cash usage.
Partner with Admin manager to audit issue/term cards and reconcile fuel and Comdata credit card activity.
Create adhoc financial reporting as necessary within the business.
In order to be successful in this role, here’s what we will need from you:
Technical skills in account reconciliation, cost analysis and month-end closing report generation; advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook; familiarity with Acumatica accounting software is a plus; understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP.)
About You
You are an experienced accounting professional with a minimum of seven years of progressive accounting experience including significant experience with cost or project accounting, and you hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. You are proficient in various Microsoft computer applications, specifically MS Excel, as well as accounting software. You are organized, detail-oriented, and highly analytic, as well as a master at multi-tasking and problem solving. You understand the need and possess the ability to deal with issues that may be difficult, sensitive, and confidential in nature. Your verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are exceptional, and you strive to be a team player at all times.
