Plant Accounting Manager manages all financial control and accounting activities of a plant including general and cost accounting, payables/receivables and payroll. Ensures the plant's financial control processes and systems comply with company policies, applicable regulations, and provide required information. Being a Plant Accounting Manager monitors plant operation results against operating plans and direct the preparation of financial, production output, and other reports used to measure and control plant activities and costs. Leads the plant financial and capital budgeting process. Additionally, Plant Accounting Manager recommends and implements programs to improve productivity, increase efficiencies, and reduce costs. May require a CPA. Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or equivalent. Typically reports to top management. The Plant Accounting Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Description:
Supervises the planning, directing and coordinating of manufacturing processes in the plant by performing the following duties.
• Safety – People, plant and property targeting zero lost days and zero incidences. This should be accomplished through the implementation of rigorous systems and adherence to these systems which transforms our culture to a safety driven organization which strives for continuous improvement.
• Continuous Improvement – By utilizing the knowledge and feedback of all associates we drive continuous improvement in our results regarding Safety, Quality, Cost, Training and Operational efficiency. This will be driven and sustained through the First Five process.
• Quality – Improve our internal and external quality results targeting zero defects in all our processes. This will extend to robust supplier development and selection ensuring that they are held to the same standard of zero defects.
• Exceed Customer requirements/expectations – This will apply to Quality, Delivery, Flexibility and Speed of Implementation with respect to all customer interactions.
• Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods.
• Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
• Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
• Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials or parts and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
• Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
• Responsible for development and implementation of work instructions (OMS, PMP)
• Confers with management, engineering and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
• Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
• Five plus years related experience and/or training.
