Plant Accounting Manager manages all financial control and accounting activities of a plant including general and cost accounting, payables/receivables and payroll. Ensures the plant's financial control processes and systems comply with company policies, applicable regulations, and provide required information. Being a Plant Accounting Manager monitors plant operation results against operating plans and direct the preparation of financial, production output, and other reports used to measure and control plant activities and costs. Leads the plant financial and capital budgeting process. Additionally, Plant Accounting Manager recommends and implements programs to improve productivity, increase efficiencies, and reduce costs. May require a CPA. Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or equivalent. Typically reports to top management. Position Overview:
This position is responsible for managing all aspects of production to include managing employee and equipment performance while maintaining consistent safety standards and quality standards within a positive work environment. This position is also responsible for initiating, implementing and evaluating continuous improvement projects.
Essential Functions
Oversee safety programs and ensure employees are appropriately trained on all applicable safety measures
Monitor quality throughout the manufacturing process and educate production employees on quality procedures and company standards to ensure customer satisfaction
Ensure all company documentation related to Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), monthly safety meetings, production and quality are complete and current
Control the inventory level to minimize working capital, support sales activities and meet monthly production objectives
Coordinate with Operations Coordinator on sales order production scheduling.
Lead direct reports on the implementation and ongoing monitoring of production plans, goals, and continuous improvement initiatives
Coach and develop employees to include performance management metrics and disciplinary action
Identify training needs and initiate training programs that are aligned with company objectives
Promote and encourage good communication with the employees, allowing for a positive, empowered environment.
Monitor Inventory Levels and complete Monthly Cycle counts for inventory accuracies.
Complete daily data entry and maintain documents and reports.

Requirements

Education
High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience
3 years’ supervisory experience in an industrial environment
