Plant Controller jobs in Columbus, GA

Plant Controller establishes and maintains the plant's financial principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives. Oversees the maintenance of fiscal records and preparation of financial reports. Being a Plant Controller analyzes and interprets cost, budget, policies and profit opportunity trends and presents findings and recommendations to top management. Establishes procedures and internal controls to ensure compliance with all relevant government and industry legislation and regulations. Additionally, Plant Controller typically reports to a CFO or top management. Requires CPA. Requires bachelor's degree. The Plant Controller manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Plant Controller typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING...
    • You will be responsible for the preparation of annual, monthly, and weekly production financial statements and reports.
    • You will staff and supervise accounting and clerical employees, supervise payroll for employees, producers and vendors, and ensure adherence to accounting principles and policies.
    • Monitor, analyze, prepare and report financial performance.
    • Monitor cost drivers (i.e. yield, cost per pound, sales, etc.).
    • Oversee monthly closing process, and issuance of performance and financial reports.
    • Assist in preparation of annual operating plan. 
    • Mentor, coach, train and cross-train employees encouraging career development while providing consistent feedback. 
    • Perform additional relevant duties as assigned.

    WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE TEAM...
    • You will have a Bachelor Degree or equivalent; preferably in Accounting, Finance or other related field.
    • You must have relevant accounting experience; preferably within a similar manufacturing environment.
    • Strong technology and computer skills, with advanced knowledge of Excel.
    • Knowledge of financial indicators and product cost modeling; preferably within meat processing.

    • You will be working in a typical office environment within a manufacturing facility.

    Benefits and incentives are available after probationary period of employment, 401k available after 1 year of employment. Team members must meet eligibility requirements to earn incentives and bonuses. Part-time employees are not eligible for benefits, incentives and bonuses.
