Plant Controller establishes and maintains the plant's financial principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives. Oversees the maintenance of fiscal records and preparation of financial reports. Being a Plant Controller analyzes and interprets cost, budget, policies and profit opportunity trends and presents findings and recommendations to top management. Establishes procedures and internal controls to ensure compliance with all relevant government and industry legislation and regulations. Additionally, Plant Controller typically reports to a CFO or top management. Requires CPA. Requires bachelor's degree. The Plant Controller manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Plant Controller typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     Position Overview:

    We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Plant Controller to join our consumer meat snacks company in Oregon. As a Plant Controller, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial operations and providing strategic financial guidance for our manufacturing plant. You will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing the plant's financial performance, implementing cost control measures, preparing accurate financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

    Location:

    • Based in Beaverton, OR. Will travel to Bay City, OR approximately 2 days per week. If preferable, home location can be in Bay City, OR with travel to Beaverton 1 day per week.

    Responsibilities:

    - Oversee and manage the financial operations of the manufacturing plant, ensuring adherence to accounting principles, internal controls, and company policies.

    - Monitor and analyze the plant's financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting.

    - Develop and implement cost control measures to optimize plant efficiency and profitability.

    - Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, procurement, and sales, to ensure accurate recording and reporting of inventory, production costs, and sales revenues.

    - Provide financial insights and analysis to support decision-making processes, such as capital investments, pricing strategies, and cost-saving initiatives.

    - Prepare and present accurate and timely financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and key performance indicators (KPIs).

    - Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.

    - Assist in the development and monitoring of annual budgets and financial forecasts for the plant.

    - Identify areas of financial risk and implement appropriate controls to mitigate those risks.

    - Collaborate with the corporate finance team to consolidate financial data, prepare financial statements, and support external audits.

    Requirements:

    - Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is highly desirable.

    - Proven work experience as a Plant Controller or similar role in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food or consumer products industry.

    - Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, budgeting, and cost control.

    - Proficient in financial software and ERP systems. Experience with SAP or other similar systems is a plus.

    - Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.

    - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide strategic insights.

    - Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

    - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

    - Strong ethical standards and commitment to maintaining confidentiality of financial information.

    - Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
