Plant Inspector jobs in Tampa, FL

• Conduct visual inspections of the asphalt plant and its equipment to ensure they are in proper working condition.
• Sample and test asphalt mixtures at various stages of production, including raw materials, intermediate products, and final mixtures.
• Perform tests to assess the quality and properties of asphalt mixtures, such as gradation, temperature, density, and viscosity.
• Document and record test results accurately and maintain detailed records of inspection activities.
• Inspect and verify the calibration and accuracy of testing equipment used at the plant.
• Collaborate with plant operators and technicians to resolve any quality issues or non-compliance with specifications.
• Conduct periodic audits and inspections to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Provide recommendations and suggestions for process improvements and quality control measures.
• Stay up-to-date with industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to asphalt production and quality control.
• Communicate inspection findings and test results to relevant stakeholders, such as plant managers, engineers, and project managers.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Asphalt Plant 1 & 2 certifications
• Previous experience as an asphalt plant inspector or in a similar quality control role within the asphalt industry.
• Strong knowledge of asphalt production processes, materials, and specifications.
• Familiarity with testing methods and equipment used in asphalt quality control.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to accurately record and document test results.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations related to asphalt production.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver's license.
