Plant Manager directs a plant or production facility's overall operations. Sets and implements policies and procedures that guide plant operations' productivity, quality, and cost efficiency. Being a Plant Manager utilizes operational metrics to analyze productivity and set performance targets to achieve production goals. Develops and deploys manufacturing practices focused on quality and continuous improvement. Additionally, Plant Manager develops and implements plant safety and security inspections, auditing, and training procedures to meet OSHA and other required regulations. Collaborates with multi-functional plant teams, including finance, engineering, materials, quality assurance, and human resources. Leads or participates in labor relations negotiations and engages with union leadership involving plant operations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to senior management. The Plant Manager manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Job Duties and Responsibilities
· The Maintenance Manager reports to the Plant Manager and will be responsible for the supervision of the Maintenance Team. Duties are:
· Manage external buildings/service maintenance contracts (pat testing, fire alarms, compressor, etc.)
· Plan and perform planned preventative maintenance on all plant mechanical equipment.
· Provide mentoring and training for the Maintenance Team to build additional maintenance skill sets.
· Respond to equipment malfunctions effectively and efficiently.
· Ensure good maintenance housekeeping practices in high hazard environments.
· Supervise daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance inspections.
· Perform and/or supervise bearing and component replacements and repair for conveyor belts, gearboxes, pumps, fans, and all other mechanical systems in and around the plant.
· Comply with environmental safety and health procedures and policies established and ensure that supervised employees remain in compliance.
· Adhere to all standard operating procedures as trained.
· Support and monitor contractors on site.
· Maintain critical inventory (i.e., fuel, oil, hydraulic fluid, fall protection, PPE, monitoring equipment, and spare parts).
· Work with engineering drawings.
· Operate forklifts, boom lifts, and scissor lifts.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent GED required.
· 3 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing environments required.
· 2 years of experience in a supervisory capacity in a manufacturing environment required.

· Respecting all safety procedures in and around the plant as trained
Additional Skills Desired:
· Solid Waste or Environmental Service Industries experience.
· Mechanical background.
· Engineering background.
· Hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC, control panel and I/O fault-finding, and inverter experience.
· Leadership and supervisory experience.
· Excellent communication and report writing skills.
· Computer literate and fluent with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to complete reports and logs.
· Ability to quickly learn production operations and machinery.
