Plumber inspects, repairs, installs, modifies, and maintains plumbing fixtures and piping in heating, water and drainage systems. Identifies plumbing and safety problems applicable to the installation and takes necessary corrective action using appropriate parts and tools. Being a Plumber complies with all required safety, building code and inspection requirements. Reads and interprets blueprints, specifications, and other instructions. Additionally, Plumber has completed required apprenticeship. Typically requires a high school diploma. Requires Journeyman Plumber status. Requires a State License for plumbing. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Plumber works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Position Summary:
Under general supervision, responsible for plumbing work installation, alteration, maintenance and repair of plumbing systems, and associated equipment. Inspects/tests water, steam disposal, oxygen, vacuum, and natural gas systems. Performs all plumbing work in compliance with all codes, regulations, etc. May also do general maintenance and repair tasks.
Job Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
1. After review of blue prints or sketches/drawings of assignment, accurately estimates quantity and type of materials needed for plumbing work to be performed.
2. Install, maintain, modify and repair all plumbing systems and associated plumbing equipment.
3. Inspect, test, maintain and repair water, steam disposal, oxygen, vacuum, and natural gas systems.
4. Adhere to current rules and regulations related to plumbing so that systems pass inspection the first time.
5. Complete work orders, record material utilized on jobs and other required documentation.
6. May also perform general maintenance and repair tasks as required.
7. Perform other related duties as required and directed.
Qualifications:
Required:
· Driving record must be within the approved insurance company's regulations.
Preferred:
· Previous experience in health care industry.
