Job Description:

AP Plumbing and Northwinds Services Group are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Manager for their Rochester, NY, location. In this position, you will oversee and manage the general accounting functions for AP Plumbing and other Northwinds Services Group entities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and sales and use taxes. You will be responsible for assessing current practices and procedures and making recommendations for improvements. As a manager, you will also be responsible for developing your team by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships.

This position would be ideal for an organized, data-driven, hands-on multi-tasker looking to lead a team in a growing organization.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for calculating monthly work-in-process (WIP) accruals for multi-period commercial construction projects.
• Assist with the annual corporate financial audit.
• Prepare weekly 13-week cash flow forecasts for each entity.
• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested.
• Manage ERP and GL systems in coordination with Northwinds’ systems support team.
• Partner with the Corporate Controller to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting at month- and year-end.

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance - CPA or MBA preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience
• Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP
• Knowledge of employee relationship-building and performance-management techniques
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with other financial systems

The starting yearly base salary range for this position is $80,000 to $105,000. This is the range of the base pay only, it does not include other components that make up the total compensation package of the position. If offered a position, your total compensation package will be determined by experience, location, skills, and/or education which may result in a total compensation package that falls outside of the provided range.
