Handles player transactions, notifies pit supervisor of any irregularities or disputes that may arise during the game. Being a Poker Dealer may require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Poker Dealer may require 0-1 year of general work experience. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.     • Follows game procedures when dealing any form or variation of poker. 
    • Provides prompt, courteous and accurate dealing at assigned table(s). 
    • Adheres to all West Virginia Gaming Commission, internal controls, and all other company and departmental policies and procedures as it relates to this position. 
    • Performs accurate chip and cash transactions. 
    • Poker dealers when not dealing, receives cash from poker tables to exchange for chips with poker room cage and delivers chips to tables. 
    • Receives wagers from customers and pays the appropriate game outcomes which are won by customers. 
    • Maintains game security and protects company assets at all times. 
    • Informs management of any irregular play; when a mistake is made; or, if a dispute arises. 
    • Assists customers in understanding the rules and ensures adherence to established policies and procedures. 
    • Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs. 
    • Poker dealers, when not dealing, welcomes guests to the Poker Room, provides information to the players about the room’s games and limits and adds player’s information on to an electronic waiting list. Seats players into Poker games. Answers telephone inquiries and responds to guest questions accurately and politely. 
    • Ensures behavior and appearance are in compliance with established standards. 
    • Maintains a professional work environment with management and staff. 
    • Maintains complete confidentiality of all company information at all times. 
    • Participates in meetings and training as required. 
    • Performs all job duties in a safe and responsible manner and reports safety hazards immediately. 
    • Performs other duties as may be assigned by department and/or company management.

    • High school diploma or equivalent required. Must successfully complete dealer training or have previous casino dealing experience. Must be able to successfully pass dealer assessment and audition. Must be fast and accurate in handling cash.
    • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Must have the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; effectively communicate and present information and respond to questions from supervisors, managers, fellow employees and/or the general public.
    • Ability to accurately calculate figures and amounts and perform mathematical functions applicable to business needs.  
    • Ability to interpret and follow through on a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
    • Must obtain licensing with the West Virginia Lottery and Racing Commissions every year of employment.
    • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age. Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, weekend hours and overtime as business needs dictate. Speaks clearly and politely; responds well to questions; and, contributes to building a positive team spirit.
    • Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the customers and employees.  Must be diplomatic and tactful. Previous customer service experience preferred.
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee must: be able to maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced, casino environment and effectively deal with customers, management, employees and others. The employee is regularly required to stand; speak; hear; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms.  Position requires fast, repetitive motion of hands and wrists and frequent reaching and bending over gaming tables.  Specific vision abilities required by this position include close and distance vision; color and depth perception; and, peripheral vision. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be working in an environment where smoking is permitted and higher than normal noise levels.
