Police Lieutenant supervises a team of police sergeants and other law enforcement support staff. Responsible for officer assignments, patrol operations, and investigations. Being a Police Lieutenant prepares and reviews reports. Ensures all policies and procedures are followed. Additionally, Police Lieutenant coordinates in-service training, staff performance evaluation and development. Requires a bachelor's degree in criminal justice or closely related field. Typically reports to a chief of police or police captain. The Police Lieutenant typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Police Lieutenant typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Protective Force Second Lieutenant
The successful candidate will serve as a Second Lieutenant in support of the Protective Force Section at the Department of Energy Waste Isolation Pilot Plant. Provide physical security for a nuclear facility to include protection of nuclear/ radiological materials, employees and visitors, government property, and sensitive information. Respond to security and non-security related incidents, and interface and coordinate with other first-responders. Functions include but not limited to: Conduct daily crew briefings, Submit incident reports, ensure WebEOC is accurate and completed daily, maintain crew shift activity reports, coordinate and conduct LSPTs and drills to ensure crew readiness and fill in for the shift Lieutenant when required. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor/manager.
After you are hired, you must be able to pass a Federal background investigation and obtain a DOE Q Security Clearance within two (2) years of your start date, and maintain that clearance to continue employment. You must maintain the ability to pass all medical and physical fitness standards as well as other required job-specific qualification programs to continue employment.

Minimum Requirements:
*Must include 2 years in any combination of Corrections, Law Enforcement, Security or Military experience.

Preferred Requirements:
Starting salary $67,817 per year *
*Base salary will be dependent upon candidate's background (i.e. education and experience)
