Community Care is seeking an Accountant to join our amazing and talented Finance Team. The Accountant is an integral part of the agency, serving as a strategic partner and advisor to the Management Team and Executive Director on all financial matters. On the job training will be provided by our current Accountant during a planned transition period to allow for a comprehensive transfer of knowledge and information to the person fulfilling this role. This position is located at our main office in Bangor.
Responsibilities include:
· financial planning
· budgeting
· managing DHHS Cost Settled Contracts
· internal and external financial reporting and analysis
· oversight of annual audits, contract and grant compliance (federal, state, & private contracts, that may include agency matching requirements) in accordance with uniform guidance and MAAP regulations
· managing the monthly general ledger closing and reconciliation of accounts
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field with a minimum of two years of experience in a comparable position. The successful candidate will have leadership skills, be a strategic thinker, and have strong financial management skills. Strong preference will be given to candidates who have worked in finance in non-profit organizations providing behavioral health and child welfare in Maine. CPA preferred.
