Transfer Station Attendant
Overview:
The Power County Landfill is hiring a full-time laborer at the American Falls transfer site. Must be able to lift up to 30lbs and experience with heavy equipment preferred. Work schedule is 40 hours per week with benefits and paid holidays. Applications are available at the Power County Landfill or the Power County website. Applications will be accepted until position is filled. Pay is DOE.
Responsibilities:
- Greet customers in person and telephonically in a friendly and professional manner
- Process cash, credit, and debit card transactions using the POS system
- Drive and maintain general maintenance on all landfill equipment.
- Assist customers with inquiries, such as available services and provide directions onsite
- Keep daily records and logs of vehicles visiting the landfill site.
- Follow safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment
Skills:
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions
- Experience with Point of Sale (POS) systems is preferred but not required
- Spanish speaking ability is a plus, as it allows for better communication with diverse customers
- Phone etiquette skills to handle customer inquiries over the phone
- Strong customer service skills to provide assistance and resolve any issues that may arise
