      What You’ll Do

      The Commercial Operations Manager is instrumental in driving growth and exploring new avenues for business expansion in the North American region. Supporting the North American Team in organizing, coordinating, and overseeing business operations to achieve PSC's vision and establish long-term strategic goals.
      This position reports to the Managing Director of North America and works closely with the Leadership Team, Key Account Managers, and other PSC Managers in North America. 

      While we are open to remote candidates across North America, we'd ideally like this person located near one of our offices in either Burnaby, Canada or Raleigh North Carolina. 

      Responsibilities Include: 

      •  Working with the Sales and Marketing Lead to find acceptable tender opportunities by tracking appropriate portals/trade publications/websites, etc.
      • With the Leadership Team, evaluate any prospective possibilities received directly from potential/existing clients.
      • Develop and maintain relationships with key/new potential clients.
      • Managing business development operations to identify new business prospects and aggressively engage with current and prospective clients.
      • Supervising the bid/no-bid processes to ensure that only legitimate and appropriate opportunities are offered for tender.
      • Define successful proposal strategies and methods in partnership with the assigned Sales and Marketing Lead and Proposal Manager.
      • Communicate and coordinate with the global PSC team on any partner/subcontractor input and instances requiring cross-team selling
      • In charge of ensuring that bids are filed on time, meet high-quality requirements, and are priced correctly.
      • Facilitate and suggest continuous sales process improvements while coordinating their implementation with the worldwide team.
      • Responsible for communicating with PSC's legal team about contractual issues.
      • In charge of interacting with the finance staff about all tax provisions and difficulties.
      • Lead contract negotiations as needed.
      • In charge of analyzing and minimizing commercial risks in business unit plans.
      • Evaluate the commercial elements of major proposals.
      • Manages the North American account management plan and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to achieve the major business objectives.
      • Assist companies, consultants, and account managers in identifying and developing strategic account plans, as well as long-term client relationships as trusted advisors.
      • Maintain and preserve a tracking system that incorporates win/loss data to improve account management over time. 
      • Track and update the commercial and communication components of framework agreements with key and strategic clients.

        We’d love you to have:

        • Ideally  5 to 8 years experience in bids/proposals and commercial management in professional services or the energy industry.
        • Good understanding of contractual terms, bids, proposals RFQs, RFPs, and RFIs
        • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
        • Creative, innovative thinking & problem-solving skills.
        • Relationship-building and influencing skills.
        • Extensive experience using CRM tools (Ideally, HubSpot).
        • Deeply detail-oriented, with exceptional writing ability, and is process-driven.
        • Undergraduate Degree in Engineering or Business or a related field.

        Special Requirements

        • Legally authorized to work in the country.
        • Ability to travel 20 to 25% of the time, occasionally working early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed for special assignments.
        • Hand-eye coordination is necessary to operate computers and various pieces of office equipment.
        • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is primarily required to sit or stand at a workstation while operating a computer, phone, and other office. equipment. The employee is required to communicate speak, write, type, and hear.
        • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

        PSC is committed to the principle of pay equity – paying employees equitably for substantially similar work. The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry, education, training, licensure, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At PSC it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $108,307 to $162,461.

        You may also be eligible to participate in our profit share program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
