PRIMARY FUNCTION: The primary purpose of this position is for the manufacture of quality products by the most profitable and efficient means possible. Directs molding, paint, polish and assembly operations to meet or exceed company operating plans and objectives. Formulates goals and action plans to achieve continuous improvements in such areas as productivity, inventory, quality, safety, scrap, and employee relations.
This Manager is responsible to plan and implement the transition of new programs into the manufacturing processes. Provides general supervision for assembly and Substrate production areas. This position is responsible for the quality of work related to the following job responsibilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
q Manage all aspects of manufacturing including molding, paint, polish and assembly departments to ensure quality products are being produced. This should include items such as interfacing with production engineering, ensuring TPM activities are being accomplished, training, scheduling, planning, and actively involved with continuous improvement activities.
q Direct Supervisory responsibility for molding, paint, polish, and assembly personnel. Direct Supervisors, Managers, including the development and utilization of the collective knowledge, skills, and abilities to best suit production needs.
q Monitors customer release levels and oversees master schedule loading and manpower to maximize overall operation efficiency. Follows up on production forecasts and schedules to ensure delivery of quality products at projected costs.
q Conducts a continuous search of new processes and procedures to enhance and improve the product line.
q Recommends capital expenditures, cost out, and production methods.
q Assists all departments with corrective actions, planning and management.
q Employee Relations: Must maintain professional relationships with all employees.
q Materials or Products: Responsible for care of a broad variety of materials and manufacturing products.
q Equipment: Responsible for care of standard office equipment and a variety of shop and test equipment.
q Responsible for operating within the departmental budget.
q Business Contacts: Contacts with persons inside or outside the company where matters discussed require resourcefulness, tact, and a working knowledge of policies, practices, and procedures.
q Participate in formal improvement team activities. Support all departmental and organizational improvement initiatives in order to achieve business objectives.
