Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) has an immediate opening for a Planner - Production located at Gerald Gentleman Station in Sutherland, Nebraska. Position closes April 15, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. Central Time.
This position will report to Brain Newland, Work Control & Reliability Manager.
Improves workforce safety, productivity, and work quality through the efficient planning of labor, detailed work scopes, materials, and services. The Planner’s primary responsibilities include developing work packages, optimal sequencing of work order operations, identifying concurrent work opportunities, acquiring parts by creating requisition for procurement or (through stores coordination), and supporting all aspects of the performance and reliability optimization efforts. The incumbent will also have to receive and review feedback from the work management process. Workload will be spread out between multiple facilities. Canaday, Water Systems, Renewable Energy and Gerald Gentleman Power Station.
BA or BS Degree (preferably in a technical field) and a minimum of 2 years’ experience as described below (OR) Associates Degree in a technical discipline and a minimum of 4 years’ experience as described below (OR) High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of 8 years’ experience as described below.
Experience in applicable business unit operations, maintenance, electrical, instrument and control, engineering, planning, or scheduling is required.
Demonstrated proficiency with automated planning, scheduling, and understanding use of NPPD human performance tools is required.
Demonstrated broad based understanding of work management processes and overall integration of NPPD's key enabling processes (Work Management, Logistics (Materials Management), Financial / Controlling, and Human Resources) is required.
Extensive experience in applicable business unit discipline is required.

Develop/maintain preventive maintenance plans designed to ensure equipment reliability, and/or execute safety and regulatory compliance requirements.
Analyze job requirements, including job hazard analysis, associated with each assigned notification. Determine materials, equipment, labor, permits, post-maintenance testing and other items or resources necessary to complete work. Assist in maintaining Master Data documentation and configuration control. IE Functional Locations, equipment records and Bill of Materials.
Develop/process work order execution plans designed to meet safety, quality, cost, and timeliness objectives using approved maintenance and operation strategies. Fluent in PaSTA scheduling of work order operations. Apply lessons learned from previously completed and similar work. Striving for continued personal and overall process improvement. Work with craft personnel, engineers and other NPPD personnel to complete bills of material for equipment and functional locations.
Coordinate planning activities with other NPPD work groups and external vendors. Actively participate in group meetings, feedback sessions, etc.
Ensure work completion is documented and planner feedback information is received prior to work closeout.
Develop, review and revise work management guidelines, standards, and task lists, as necessary.
Incumbent is accountable for miscellaneous other responsibilities as assigned or required.
Pay Grade - 13 Monthly
Typical Pay Grade Starting Salary Range: $6,847.00 - $8,559.00
Travel Required: Up to 25% (With no or minimal overnight stays, less than 3 per month, typically within state of Nebraska) Travel required may fluctuate by business need. This is an estimate and will be discussed further with candidates that receive an interview.
