Precision Assembler performs precision assembling, aligning, or adjusting within very tight tolerances. Follows schematics and specification documents to complete measuring, fitting, wiring, and soldering of components to assemble units. Being a Precision Assembler calibrates and tests subcomponents and finished products to ensure quality and functionality. Inspects produced parts for quality assurance, identifies defects and makes adjustments. Additionally, Precision Assembler uses standard hand and power tools, and precision measuring tools such as micrometers, verniers, and dial calipers. Typically requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Precision Assembler works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline.     $15/hr with the ability to grow and be converted

    Currently working overtime but normal schedule is M-F 6-230pm

    Position Summary:

    The Assembler 1 operates fabricating machines such as cutoff saws, shears, rolls, brakes, presses, forming machines, spinning machines and punches that cut, shape and bend metal plates, sheets, tubes and structures by performing the following duties below.


    Safety:

    • Be a champion in following safety rules of FAMCO.
    • Be the example of working safely at all time even when no one is looking.
    • Be vocal when a safety hazard or suggestion is identified.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Performs processes to complete assembly and subassembly, using hand tools, presses, power tools, and fastening machines.
    • Measures workpiece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation.
    • Conduct changes over on equipment when necessary.
    • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly.
    • Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department Team Leader.
    • Performs related duties as assigned by supervision.

    Working Environment:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually normal.

    Physical Demands:

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
