Precision Assembler performs precision assembling, aligning, or adjusting within very tight tolerances. Follows schematics and specification documents to complete measuring, fitting, wiring, and soldering of components to assemble units. Being a Precision Assembler calibrates and tests subcomponents and finished products to ensure quality and functionality. Inspects produced parts for quality assurance, identifies defects and makes adjustments. Additionally, Precision Assembler uses standard hand and power tools, and precision measuring tools such as micrometers, verniers, and dial calipers. Typically requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Precision Assembler works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. The Assembler 1 operates fabricating machines such as cutoff saws, shears, rolls, brakes, presses, forming machines, spinning machines and punches that cut, shape and bend metal plates, sheets, tubes and structures by performing the following duties below.

Physical Demands:

This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
