Precision Assembler performs precision assembling, aligning, or adjusting within very tight tolerances. Follows schematics and specification documents to complete measuring, fitting, wiring, and soldering of components to assemble units. Being a Precision Assembler calibrates and tests subcomponents and finished products to ensure quality and functionality. Inspects produced parts for quality assurance, identifies defects and makes adjustments. Additionally, Precision Assembler uses standard hand and power tools, and precision measuring tools such as micrometers, verniers, and dial calipers. Typically requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Precision Assembler works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. The purpose of the Assembler position is to build, configure, assemble and/or package electrical, sprinkler, or irrigation component parts into subassemblies and finished products for irrigation systems.
An Assembler is a new or existing employee who has not been fully trained or demonstrated proficiency in specific skill areas and/or on specific machinery. These are employees who are placed in on the job training roles and who will remain as Assemblers in Training until predetermined proficiencies are achieved within the Assembly department.
