Precision Assembler performs precision assembling, aligning, or adjusting within very tight tolerances. Follows schematics and specification documents to complete measuring, fitting, wiring, and soldering of components to assemble units. Being a Precision Assembler calibrates and tests subcomponents and finished products to ensure quality and functionality. Inspects produced parts for quality assurance, identifies defects and makes adjustments. Additionally, Precision Assembler uses standard hand and power tools, and precision measuring tools such as micrometers, verniers, and dial calipers. Typically requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Precision Assembler works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Must be capable of but not limited to: Excellent soldering skills and fine eye/hand coordination when using small hand tools such as soldering iron, wire strippers, crimpers, etc.; Performs mechanical assembly measuring tools; Perform troubleshooting tasks as required; Visually inspects products or parts to ensure that the product meets the quality specifications. Must be able to follow operation steps and engineering drawings in the completion of the assembly tasks.
