Job Summary: Responsible for preparing metal surfaces by grinding, smoothing, and finishing, ensuring that products meet quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities:

• Operate Grinding Equipment: Use hand-held or machine-operated grinding tools and equipment to grind, smooth, and finish metal surfaces according to project specifications.
• Material Inspection: Inspect raw materials and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards, identifying and addressing any defects or irregularities.
• Read Blueprints: Interpret and understand blueprints, drawings, and work instructions to determine the specific grinding requirements for each project.
• Quality Control: Perform quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet dimensional and visual specifications. Make adjustments as necessary.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while operating grinding machinery. Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow proper safety procedures.
• Maintain Equipment: Perform routine maintenance on grinding equipment to ensure optimal performance. Report any malfunctions or issues to the maintenance team.
• Finished Casting: Position parts on pallets for final painting.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Previous experience as a Grinder in a foundry or metal fabrication environment is preferred.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in the use of hand-held and machine-operated grinding tools. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and precision to achieve specified surface finishes and quality standards.
• Physical Fitness: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Additional technical training or certifications in metalworking and grinding processes are a plus.
