Press Operator Assistant - All Widths completes print production jobs on various types of printing press machines, including digital, flexographic, web, screen, or others. Reviews job specifications and complete setup tasks, including filling ink, calibrating machine, and loading stock. Being a Press Operator Assistant - All Widths conducts visual inspection of samples prior to running job. Performs in-process quality inspections utilizing standard testing protocols. Additionally, Press Operator Assistant - All Widths completes all required production logs and documentation. Interprets equipment diagnostics, troubleshoots breakdowns, and makes necessary adjustments to complete the job. Performs regular maintenance, cleaning, and changeovers of press from one job to another. Maintains a clean and safe workspace. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Press Operator Assistant - All Widths works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. We’re seeking candidates for General Laborer positions on a variety of shifts in the Heat Press department. Compensation for these temp-to-hire opportunities is $18.00-$21.00 per hour, depending on skills & experience.
What a Heat Press General Laborer will do:
- Sets automatic controls, observes gauges, and operates gas or electric furnace used to harden temper, anneal heat treat metal parts.
- Loads parts into containers in accordance with load diagrams, closes furnace door, and inserts parts into furnace when specified temperature is reached.
- Adjusts machine settings with assistance when necessary.
- Removes parts from furnace after specified time and air dries or cools parts in water or oil brine or other baths.
- Disassembles loads as needed.
- Reads production schedule to determine processing sequence and furnace temperature requirements for objects to be heat treated.
- Reads work order to determine processing specifications.
- Lights gas burners and adjusts flow of gas and coolant water.
- Moves material and supplies with a forklift as needed.
What it takes to become a Heat Press General Laborer:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to follow work instructions
- Regular attendance
- Ability to acquire forklift license and safely operator a forklift as needed
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 32 pounds., and occasionally lift and/or move up to 72 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations
- Ability to perform repetitive movements (i.e. bend, twist, etc.) and stand and/or walk up to 100% of shift, with or without reasonable #AudubonJobs #WorkNow
