The Printing Press Operator reviews job specifications and complete setup tasks, including filling ink, calibrating machine, and loading stock. Completes print production jobs on various types of printing press machines, including digital, flexographic, web, screen, or others. Being a Printing Press Operator performs in-process quality inspections utilizing standard testing protocols. Conducts visual inspection of samples prior to running job. In addition, Printing Press Operator completes all required production logs and documentation. Interprets equipment diagnostics, troubleshoots breakdowns, and makes necessary adjustments to complete the job. Performs regular maintenance, cleaning, and changeovers of press from one job to another. Maintains a clean and safe workspace. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. Being a Printing Press Operator independently performs a wide range of complex duties under general guidance from supervisors. Position Purpose:
Responsible for entry level press operations
Hourly Pay Range: $16.00 - $19.00
Essential Functions:
· Maintain Environmental, Health, & Safety standards in the workplace
· Operate Shave Press
· Form Press, and Resistance Welder
· Stack Coined Tables from Rovetta 1
· Operate Coin Press (Rovetta 2)
· Uses Go / No Go Gauges Rework parts
· Other duties as assigned
Education and Training
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum Qualifications
· Good verbal and written communication skills
· Must be able to use measuring equipment
· Must be able to work independently
· Ability to work well with others
Physical Demands
· Must be able stand continuously for 8-12 hrs.
· Must be able to lift 5 lbs. minimum up to 25lbs
· Must be able to bend, twist and lift repetitively
· Ability to work in tight places
· Good hand/eye coordination and good motor skills
· Demonstrates dependability and adherence to all safety rules and regulations
Environmental Conditions
· Ear, Eye and Foot protection required at all times in production areas
· Exposure to a noisy work environment
· Exposure to hot and humid conditions
· Exposure to coolants, oils, grease and water
· Steel toe boots with metatarsal guards are required at all times
