The Printing Press Operator reviews job specifications and complete setup tasks, including filling ink, calibrating machine, and loading stock. Completes print production jobs on various types of printing press machines, including digital, flexographic, web, screen, or others. Being a Printing Press Operator performs in-process quality inspections utilizing standard testing protocols. Conducts visual inspection of samples prior to running job. In addition, Printing Press Operator completes all required production logs and documentation. Interprets equipment diagnostics, troubleshoots breakdowns, and makes necessary adjustments to complete the job. Performs regular maintenance, cleaning, and changeovers of press from one job to another. Maintains a clean and safe workspace. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. Being a Printing Press Operator independently performs a wide range of complex duties under general guidance from supervisors. Has gained full proficiency in a broad range of activities related to the job. Working as a Printing Press Operator typically requires 5-7 years of related experience. (Copyright 2024 Salary.com)

What you'll do as: Brake Press/Shear Operator
- Examine completed workpieces for defects
- Measure completed workpieces to verify conformance to specifications
- Set up, operate, or tend machines
- Test and adjust machine speeds or actions
- Clean and lubricate machines
Work ExperienceThe preferred candidate might:
- Experience in operating various machines
- Knowledge in measuring and verifying specifications
- Experience in setting up and operating machines
- Skills in testing and adjusting machine speeds
- Experience in maintaining cleanliness and functionality of machines
