In addition, Printing Press Operator completes all required production logs and documentation. Mill Rock Aurora (previously All Packaging Company) is one of the many facilities that make up Mill Rock Packaging, a quickly growing platform in the packaging industry and a market leader in the design, engineering and production of high-end, sustainable and customized graphic paperboard, folding carton and commercial printing products. MRP is searching for passionate and agile problem-solvers who are excited by challenge and the opportunity to build the future. As a Printing Press Operator, you will be responsible for coordinating make-ready, operations, and maintenance on the Printing Press.
This is a full-time, on-site position. Specific shift hours will be agreed upon at hiring. However, changes in manufacturing needs and schedules may necessitate a change to the original agreed upon hours, or the working of additional, overtime hours. Every effort will be made to give advance notice of any permanent changes.
A Day in the Life:
Key Responsibilities
Insert packing sheets on plate cylinder to build up plate to printing height.
Fasten reinforcing bars to offset blankets and install plates and blankets on press cylinders.
Make adjustments to achieve pressure required for printing.
Adjust press machine parts, such as feeder and delivery mechanisms, suction grippers, guides, feed wheels, jogging devices, tapes, and cams using hand tools.
Remove and replace worn rollers and adjust pressure between rollers of press using hand tools.
Wash blankets, and clean ink, ink distributing rollers, and ink fountains using ink solvent and cleaning mechanism on press.
Make necessary color, register corrections, and/or press adjustments prior to production run to meet and maintain the quality specifications of the work.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, chemicals, and heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and hear. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, bend, and reach with hands and arms. Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety rules to prevent accidents.
Capabilities & Experience:
Basic Qualifications
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Minimum 3-5 years previous experience setting up and running sheet fed presses.
Experience with KBA and UV
Knowledge of prepress and printing
Language Skills – Ability to read and comprehend instructions. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
Requires excellent knowledge of offset presswork procedures and materials.
Ability to read and follow job specifications to determine press set-up materials needed to run the job successfully.
Skill to follow instructions to operate equipment safely and produce the desired product.
Ability to adjust feeder and feed board (e.g., ability to adjust suctions and blast, front and side guides and the timing of the head stops).
Skill in performing routine operational maintenance and minor repairs to equipment under guidance of senior level Press Operators.
Preferred Qualifications

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $24.00/hour to $32.00/hour. Pay is based on a variety of complex factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Depending on the position, other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of robust medical, dental, vision, 401(k) and life insurance benefits.
