Principal Architect oversees and manages a team responsible for architectural projects. Reviews and approves architectural procedures and techniques used to complete projects. Being an Principal Architect has a diverse knowledge of architecture principles and practices, uses advanced techniques, and has responsibility for final specifications, approval of ordered materials, and overall guidance on objectives and concepts. Ensures architectural designs are completed on time and adhere to the established specifications and standards. Additionally, Principal Architect keeps up to date on the development of new architectural methods or techniques. Requires a bachelor's degree in architecture. Requires a State Architect's License. We are looking for a talented design professional to assist our Design Team providing creative and design-centric support.
This candidate should be able to assist us in designing numerous high end residential projects.
What the job entails:
1. Assisting in the creative process, efficiently addressing the customers unique styles and design needs.
2. Create floor plans on CAD, assist with supporting 3D on SketchUp - and other design related frameworks.
3. Assist in preparing designs, for high end windows and custom glazing.
4. Ensuring smooth transitions between design and construction phases of the project.
What the ideal candidate will bring:
1. Degree in Architecture or equivalent with a proficiency in CAD and SketchUp for design. Ability to use Solidworks is a plus.
2. One year of experience working in the field of design as an Architect or other drafting function.
3. Exceptional organizational and record-keeping skills, with the ability to successfully manage tasks and projects simultaneously.
4. Communication and people skills - The ability to communicate with customers and vendors.
5. Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot quickly and efficiently.
6. Aptitude for and eagerness to learn new things every day. Every day will be different and include the ability to get into the field, touring construction sites, as well as, client meetings.
