Principal Architect oversees and manages a team responsible for architectural projects. Reviews and approves architectural procedures and techniques used to complete projects. Being an Principal Architect has a diverse knowledge of architecture principles and practices, uses advanced techniques, and has responsibility for final specifications, approval of ordered materials, and overall guidance on objectives and concepts. Ensures architectural designs are completed on time and adhere to the established specifications and standards. Additionally, Principal Architect keeps up to date on the development of new architectural methods or techniques. Requires a bachelor's degree in architecture. Requires a State Architect's License. Qualifications
-Demonstrate experience and knowledge of survey techniques and procedures.
-Possess strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as good judgment and organizational skills.
-Have a valid Driver’s license.
-Ability to drive/travel for long continuous hours.
-Ability to drive personal car when necessary.
-Ability to stand, climb and walk continuously.
-Ability to perform strenuous work in a varying climate (heat and cold, etc).
-Ability to be away from home for extended periods of time.
-Must have good computer skills and be able to learn survey related software / equipment.
-Working knowledge of AutoCAD / Revit is preferred.
-Architecture/design background preferred but not necessary.
Responsibilities
-Communicate with Clients/Brokers/Landlords to schedule site visits.
-Book travel arrangements and keep records of said transactions biweekly.
-Maintain communication/relationship with Clients until project moves out of survey phase.
-Apply standard surveying techniques in the field to plan and execute field surveys.
-Broad understanding and experience for operating surveying equipment – Faro scanners, Matterport scanners, flying drones.
-Prepare field notes and draw sketches of existing site conditions when necessary.
-Accurately records field data.
-Review, download, and process field data.
-Prepare detailed job reports and discuss projects with team leads daily.
-Maintain and troubleshoot complex equipment.
-Drafting and editing of survey existing conditions using Recap, Revit and AutoCAD.
