Printer completes print production jobs on various types of printing press machines, including digital, flexographic, web, screen, or others. Reviews job specifications and complete setup tasks, including filling ink, calibrating machine, and loading stock. Being a Printer conducts visual inspection of samples prior to running job. Performs in-process quality inspections utilizing standard testing protocols. Additionally, Printer completes all required production logs and documentation. Interprets equipment diagnostics, troubleshoots breakdowns, and makes necessary adjustments to complete the job. Performs regular maintenance, cleaning, and changeovers of press from one job to another. Maintains a clean and safe workspace. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Printer works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. LARGE FORMAT PRINTER OPERATOR
Applied Image is a nationally recognized large format digital imaging and environmental graphics manufacturer. We utilize state of the art printing processes to produce the country’s finest corporate, retail, museum and exhibit graphics. We are looking for an experienced, skilled Large Format Printer Operator to join our production team.
The Large Format Printer Operator responsibilities include:
· Perform tasks as directed by the Director of Manufacturing.
· Operate and maintain Large-Format UV and Latex printers.
· Read and interpret job specifications.
· Maintain job logs and maintenance books on equipment.
· Work with other Operators and Technicians developing fabricating solutions.
· Troubleshoot printer problems.
· Prepare material to be printed.
· Operate Laminator.
· Hand and machine mount graphics using a wide variety of film on a wide variety of substrate.
· Organize substrates and laminates and maintain printer areas.
· Implement all safety procedures regarding tasks and equipment.
· Ensure quality control.
The Printer Operator must possess great attention to detail. The position requires the ability to read and execute a variety of job specifications, to operate and maintain Large Format UV and Latex roll to roll and flatbed digital printers. Must be able to lift 50 lb. This position requires understanding of the Windows Operating System, Mac OSX is a plus. Familiarity with RIP software, especially Onyx Production House, is necessary. The Printer Operator must be able to match precise color specifications and create and maintain color profiles for each output device. Good math skills are required.
We are looking for a team player with a positive attitude to contribute in all phases of large format graphic production. Experience is necessary, and overtime is required as production demands.
