Collects production data and applies standard scientific and statistical methods to analyze, document, and diagram production processes. Being a Process Engineer identifies process bottlenecks and devises solutions to resolve. Recommends changes or upgrades to equipment, work methods, or other aspects of the process to improve efficiency and utilization of resources including labor, energy and raw materials. Additionally, Process Engineer requires a bachelor's degree of engineering. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Process Engineer works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed. To be a Process Engineer typically requires 0-2 years of related experience.     Collins Aerospace is looking for a Materials & Process Engineer (M&P) who will be responsible for managing and monitoring the manufacturing processes of Carbon Carbon materials for aerospace applications. You will assure compliance with customer requirements (Performance and strength), qualifying new technology, and providing hands-on leadership in the identification and resolution of process issues that impact the product. You will also need to resolve complex technical problems, manage technical projects, and propose improvement opportunities involving new technologies or methods.

    Primary Responsibilities:
    • Analyzes, research, designs, and develops materials and their related fabrication and application processes to develop and optimize materials for use in engineering design of and/or application in structures, systems and subsystems.
    • Performs material analyses that include, but are not limited to, failure analysis of components, systems and subsystems, life predictions, and definition and requirement specifications.
    • Applies principles of chemistry, physics, and material behavior to develop carbon and composite material and processing specifications, fabrication and assembly processes.
    • May review and approve subcontractor material processing procedures.
    • Observe processes, conduct research and find ways to increase efficiency.


    Basic Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree and 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships)

      The salary range for this role is 53,000 USD - 103,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
