Process Engineer develops and optimizes continuous production and manufacturing processes to achieve the output, quality, and cost goals of the organization. Collects production data and applies standard scientific and statistical methods to analyze, document, and diagram production processes. Being a Process Engineer identifies process bottlenecks and devises solutions to resolve. Recommends changes or upgrades to equipment, work methods, or other aspects of the process to improve efficiency and utilization of resources including labor, energy and raw materials. Additionally, Process Engineer requires a bachelor's degree of engineering. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Process Engineer works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed. To be a Process Engineer typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will act as the site technology leader and play a critical role in supporting operations, turnarounds, and start-ups of this first-generation plant.DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIESØ Troubleshoot plant operations and maintenance problems and recommend solutions to ensure the plant is running safely, efficiently, and effectively.Ø Establish KPIs for operations and work closely with the Operations Management team to ensure the plant meets performance targets.Ø Maintain the Aspen process model and utilize it to analyze plant operations and identify improvement opportunities.Ø Manage contractors on-site field labor for modifications work, provide technical requirements for maintenance work, and inspect maintenance contractors' work to ensure compliance with company standards.Ø Support permitting modifications by providing technical data as needed to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.Ø Design new plants, scoping out optimization solutions, selecting equipment and materials, and interfacing with vendors during fabrication, shop inspections, and field inspections.QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTSv 4-year degree in Chemical Engineering preferred. Mechanical engineering degree will be considered. Professional Engineer preferred.v At least 10 years of experience as plant process engineer. In plant engineering experience is mandatory.v Strong knowledge of Aspen process modeling softwarev Experience troubleshooting plant operations and maintenance problems.v Ability to manage contractors on-site field labor for modifications work.v Must be authorized to work for any employer without sponsorship now or in the future.v Plus Skills (not required):§ Experience with gasification processes and syngas usage§ Industrial drying experience.
