Process Engineering Director jobs in Rock Island, IL

OCI Nitrogen North America is looking for a Chemical Engineering student to join our Process Engineering team for a Summer/Fall Cooperative assignment. The student will be responsible for assisting in either the operations or reliability group in any way needed to accomplish technical tasks and to provide support to the facility as a whole.

As a Process Engineering Co-op, you will:

• Read and interpret Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
• Review technical documents such as P&IDs, piping isometric drawings, area plot plans, specifications, process flow diagrams or mechanical drawings.
• Review document transmittals from engineering firms to find discrepancies or non-compliance with OCI standards.
• Assist staff engineers with large projects.
• Project Management for small projects.
• Process data collection and reporting.
• Assist with pressure and catalyst surveys where needed.
• All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• Sophomore or higher student actively pursuing a B.S. Degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum of 2.75 GPA required. A college transcript must be uploaded with your application to be considered for the position. An unofficial transcript is acceptable.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Bending, kneeling, lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to climb straight ladders. Some work may require heights in excess of 100 feet.
• Wearing industrial chemical plant uniforms and PPE as required.
• Confined space entry may be required.
