Process Engineering Manager manages a team responsible for the design and implementation of manufacturing processes, equipment, or plants. Responsible for operational excellence via efficient plant design. Being a Process Engineering Manager ensures continuous improvement in process, cost, quality and production. Manages all engineering projects and resolves engineering problems. Additionally, Process Engineering Manager requires a bachelor's degree of engineering. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Process Engineering Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. The successful candidate for this position will work on time and cost sensitive projects in a multi-disciplinary, team-based environment to provide customer-focused engineering consulting services. The successful candidate for this position must have the ability to develop positive working relationships with industrial customers to provide cost-effective solutions to their engineering needs.
Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor of Science Degree in Process/Chemical or Mechanical Engineering (preferred), or Structural Engineering or another related field is required. A Master of Science Degree in Engineering, Managment, and/or a MBA are a plus.5 to 25 years of relevant experience required
Direct customer contact and customer relations
Current Professional Engineer (PE) license and/or PMP are a plus.
Excellent writing abilities including proposals and project reports.
Experience in the following areas is preferred:Consulting engineering
Inter-disciplinary teams
Construction Management
Retrofitting & expanding existing industrial facilities
Equipment replacement
New industrial plant facilities & process engineering
Piping, conveyors, boilers & heat processes, pumps, tanks, foundations, separators
Additional Preferred Knowledge & Experience
Agra-business, Pharmaceuticals, Oilseeds, biofuels, Powder and Bulk material handling
Pet food, animal feed, Utilities
