Responsible for solid modeling, layout design, detail design, drafting, and checking drawings related to process equipment.
Create and/or modify concept layouts, 3D models, assemblies, and detail drawings utilizing Solid Edge Computer Aided Design (CAD) with Solid Edge Design Manager (PDM) software.Provide design solutions while being mindful of form, fit, function, manufacturability, and cost.Responsible for working with Process Engineering personnel and implementing new design requirements.Responsible for obtaining quotes on drawing packages and interact with internal and external machine shops.Will work directly on project teams as a design resource and initiate documentation approval routes.Responsible for designing in-process and final inspection gages.Supports NJ and PA locations, which require occasional site visits to both Edison, NJ and Jessup, PA.Assists on special projects and performs additional duties as assigned.
Associate's Degree in Computer Aided Design or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
Minimum seven years experience in tool and fixture design.
In depth knowledge of Design for Manufacturing and Form-Fit-Function.
Practical experience in Machine Shop highly desirable.
Strong background in 3D solid modeling software such as Solid Edge, Solidworks, Inventor, or Creo.
Knowledge in engineering principles, machining, and inspection methods.
GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) knowledge required.
General dimensioning and tolerancing to latest ASME Y14.5M Standards.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
