POSITION SUMMARY: The Process Improvement Specialist develops and supports manufacturing strategies, plans and processes to sustain and improve productivity and provide support to all manufacturing and related functions. Ensures all products produced that are made for commercialization meet the Company’s stringent quality benchmarks and regulatory requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES – Satisfactorily performing and/or achieving the following Responsibilities are essential duties of the job.
- Provides project management and process improvement to Operations and communicates directions with clarity both written and orally.
- Develops and executes strategies, plans, and associated processes to ensure production can meet all its goals and scheduled demands for finished product which meet regulatory and company requirements.
- Develops and supports training plans, methods, and curriculums, including error and waste reduction to create gold standard baselines in the manufacturing process. Provides the necessary support for shift leadership to successfully promote operators in a manufacturing Credentialed Training program.
- Ensures cooperation and alignment between Manufacturing, Engineering and Quality, and other relevant functional areas.
- Keeps Operations leadership informed about potential threats, opportunities, and recommended actions.
- Ensures production management has all necessary tools and resources to be compliant with Thorne policies as well as federal, state, and local regulatory bodies, and other quality agencies, manufacturing standards, and certifying agencies as well as to provide and maintain a safe workplace for employees.
- Reviews and refines key performance metrics and monitors performance and ensures that progress is being made and corrective action, if necessary, is promptly taken.
- Creates, edits, and maintains necessary documentation.
- Evaluates, implements, and monitors processes and operating systems for the manufacture of Thorne’s products.
- Identifies cost saving thru labor hour reduction and lowering waste.
- Actively participates in required training and development programs and electives as suit one’s needs, and support colleagues, trainers, and management as appropriate with these efforts.
What You Need:
- Highschool diploma or GED required. Two-year college degree in an applicable field preferred 5 years’ related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Experience in an FDA-regulated environment. Experience with ISO and/or GMP standards required.
